In the mid 1990's I came up with this
design concept for a Logo Seal. (contemplating the new digital arena while grasping a Mac
mouse).
As an artist whose "drawing tools and creative process" evolved
from the 60's and 70's was now faced with the all consuming digital era.
During the nineties I did not have a digital palette/pen...I used the
mouse - i.e. drawing with the mouse in the palm of my hand using a lot of
wrist action while coordinating palm eye reflexes to the monitor in front
of me. It was awkward, cumbersome and NOT artisan friendly. Nowadays
we have digital pens (Wacom palettes and Cintiq's) - thank you, thank you.
Regrettably computer clip (instant) art has spawned a
new age of charlatan wannabe designers. Polluting magazine covers, brochures,
posters, business cards, corporate logos, and most noticeably websites!
